Regular BLB reader Niels Jansen has been following Biglorryblog's tips on how to take nice truck photographs, and especially the most recent posting on how to use 'kipple' to frame the picture. In the blog I mentioned that it the only bit of kipple (i.e. extraneous junk and clutter) that doesn't work when framing a truck is telegraph wires and powerlines. And blow me Niels has proved me wrong! He tells me: "Hi Brian, I have followed on your blog with interest and the hints on how to make better truck photos. I know you're not keen to see telegraph or power lines in the picture but this is how I made use of them in a recent shoot of a brand new Scania brick hauler passing through a Dutch polder. Hope you like it. Keep up the good work, Niels!"
To which BLB says yep, I'll buy that. Nice shot and nice rig too, check out those trailer axles...
And for all of you who wondered what Hollywood block-buster was based upon Philip K.Dick's book: "Do Android's dream of electric sheep?" the answer is 'Blade Runner.' And Alistair White wins the pie...

OK, but those of us who have known Niels for 40-years or so will also know that he has ALWAYS been of of those naturally gifted photographers who can somehow manage to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Sorry Niels, it's one those odd English expresions, but it's a compliment, honest! It would appear to be a combination of angle, lighting and lenses (obviously) but also selecting the best subject matter in the first place. And that's a talent in itself. Keep it up Niels.
I leapt to the computer seconds after this went up, saying much the same as Martin. I’ve known him slightly less years than Martin (!). This guy will be a great addition to the team of regular readers and posters. Niels, welcome aboard!
