Now here's a 'throbby' kind of motor and make no mistake. Certainly you're not going to have any trouble off-road in this beast. How come you ask Biglorryblog? Well because starting in early 2008 Renault will be offering its bullet-proof Kerax eight-legger with the same 460hp or 500hp 13-litre DXi13 lump as fitted it in its Magnum. A 500hp 8x4?--yer 'avin a larf Jean Pierre aintcha! Indeed it seems not. The DXi13 will complement the 'smaller' DXi11 engine and Optidriver+ robotised gearbox drivetrain already offered in the Kerax. And for those of you who like things all wrapped up in pretty pink ribbon the 460hp DXi13 delivers 2,300Nm of torque while the 500hp six-pot provides a stump-pulling 2,450 Nm. That's a real mud-plugger for you! Or as Renault puts it (rather tweely I thought.) 'This enables the Kerax range to optimise its vehicles' overall performance for the most demanding applications.' Well quite.
Meanwhile, click through here for news of the new 8x4 Lander!

And here it is. The Premium Lander 8x4 which makes the multi-wheeeler range "fully comprehensive". According to Renault it "...delivers greater payload for site supply work and other specific applications, such as ready-mixed concrete transport, flatbed cranes, light tippers, industrial waste transport, etc." The French truck maker goes on to say: "With their new crane and concrete pump pre-equipment, Kerax and Premium Lander are even more closely matched to the activities for which they have been designed....and they continue to set the standards in the construction sector, particularly in fields such as earthmoving and quarry work, concrete transport and building material transport."
There now...any questions?
