Having bemoaned the lack of FL10s at the recent classic Volvo "Steel Boys" run from Warwick to Gaydon, John Comer has come to Biglorryblog's rescue having made personal (and highly secretative) representations on BLB's behalf to one S.Claus esq. And JC e-mails me to say: "The guys up in Lapland have knocked up this little beauty to leave under the tree. The cab is very traditional---made from wood, that fine natural composite material that is very prevalent in the North of Sweden close to Volvo's cab plant in Umea."
He goes on to say: "The frame is made from wood along with the wings and air suspension with its fine brass wing stays and anti-roll bars. The cab is full trimmed with opening doors and a Geartronic gearbox."

JC continues: "For top class transportation it’s the Christmas Angels' delight. In truth the model has some historic Christmas heritage as it was made and donated to Warwick by the local postman who built wooden toys as a hobby---and it's quiet happy sitting on its plinth in the main office all year round, having been 'parked' in various other locations for the past 12 years.
Every new father and mother loves the natural wonder of wooden toys, they look so great in the nursery. Sadly, however, in time those Brio toys (from another great Swedish company) give way to the plastic superheroes like Optimus Prime which kids tend to prefer as they slowly transform."
Hey that's progress John, and if nothing else your wonderful wooden FL10 has brought a rosy glow to Biglorryblog's otherwise frosty countenance! Have a great Christmas.
