Those crazshee Dutch! My cloggie mate Tim de Jong has sent me this picture of a beautifully preserved Daf 2700 and tells me: "Hi Brian, here's a shunter I found on the premises of the Dutch Kuehne + Nagel logistics firm. Delivered in 1991, this finely maintained example has only done 830,000kms, that's about 519,000 miles." To which Biglorryblog replies in true Victor Meldrew mode: "I don't believe it!" It's in far too good nick for that.

Tim goes on to say: "The Daf did a lot of national work before it was kept for shunting trailers.
The driver is still very pleased with his machine, which shows us how radically truck design and construction has changed the past nearly one and a half decades."

Be that as it may Tim, call that a shunter?...No mate click through here for a real 'shunter'

THIS IS A SHUNTER......a magnificent care-worn Renault Major...they don't make them like that any more. Note the tape holding on the right mirror and the string which keeps the left mirror arm in the correct position..... 'Shunter' indeed. You cloggies are going to have to try harder than that!

Which begs the question of all BLB readers what's your favourite shunter? Send me pictures if you dare.
