Following Biglorryblog’s recent posting on the Fenatran truck show in Brazil Richard Stanier has come back to me to say: “I don't think I've heard of that show before, but the pictures certainly whetted my appetite for the Brazilian trucks of yore. So I’m sending you the following pictures. Here’s one of the Puma 6.T. The Puma Industria de Veiculos S/A concern produced a range of light and mid weight trucks throughout the 1970's and 80's from their Sao Paulo factory. The 6.T was designed for 9030kg GVW, and was offered with MWM or Perkins diesels, or a GM gasoline/alcohol engine.”
“Next up is the FNM 210. I think the FNM truck has been ‘blogged before’. The Fabrica Nacional de Motores SA was an Alfa Romeo company that began by producing trucks to the parent company's design, which continued to be built in Rio de Janeiro in an updated form after Italian production had ceased. The 210, from the mid 1970's, clearly shows its' much earlier origins in design. Available as a 4x2 tractor or 6x4 rigid, the design GVW of the artic was a hefty 45,000 kgs, despite the 11-litre engine producing a rather modest 215hp."
Now click through here for a vintage Scania....you know you want to.

Richard clearly nows what BLB readers like: "Here's a Scania 140---Scania have long been established in Brazil, and one of their most interesting trucks was the 140 V8, from the mid 1970's. It has the unusual "axle-forward" specification and trilex wheels, similar to the version specified for the Australian market of the time. I always thought it curious that the Scania was such a powerful lorry in a country where quite low-powered trucks were (and are) the norm."
So does anyone have the answer to that one?
Hi, I'm building toy / model trucks in wood.
I'm looking for more info about Brazilian built trucks.
If anybody can help me, I would be thankful.
