If you've been wondering how they're going to keep the 555 passengers in the new double-decker Airbus 380 fed and watered, thern worry no more. Because this Mercedes Econic is the boy to do it! The first A380 Airbuses are due to enter service towards the end of next year, probably operated by Qantas on their Heathrow to Australia route and their In-flight meals will be delivered by this special Econic support vehicle cooled by Thermo King.

The V-700 fridge is atcually attached to the side of the chassis so it doesn't get in the way of the huge scissor lifts that raise the body to a height of 8.2 metres for transferring meals and other food and beverages to the upper deck of the Airbus.

Engineers from UK dealer Marshall Thermo King completed the installation, extending the units’ standard pipework and wiring to comply with aviation standards. Currently on trial, the Emtek Econic vehicles will transfer in-flight meals, refreshments and duty free goods from Airfayre’s headquarters at Heston, Middlesex, to Heathrow.
