As promised Biglorryblog’s man down under, Rod Simmonds, has been having a busman’s weekend having attended the local Pukekohe Camp Quality Show (I’m not making that name up you know). And naturally, knowing that BLB is a fan of old Foden’s he’s shot this fabulous (I think) 10x4 Foden 4350 4000 Series artic belonging to MacKenzie Transport with a whopping great crane on the back and (if the sun-strip on the top is to be believed) a Cat beating under the hood.

And if that wasn’t enough here’s another of Mackenzie’s army, this time a rigid, but still a Foden 4000 Series----and another five axle jobbie only with the crane at the back. Now click through here for a couple more Golden Oldie kiwis including a bonneted Merc and some old Cargo tankers….

What were we saying about old Ford Cargoes going on and on…? Witness these two six-wheelers on gulley sucking work—one with a sleeper, the other with a day cab.

Now here’s a right old boy…a 6x2 LP bonneted Merc—look closely and you can see the second axle is lifted. And look at the attention to detail on the paint job—included white painted rims!

Last but not least Rod wouldn’t be Rod without us getting at least one US bonneted behemoth so how about this Kenworth? I only hope the tea and cakes were as good as the trucks mate!

Camp Quality is a charity for Kids with Cancer. It is held at Pukekohe (just out of Auckland)each year, and kids and public can get rides around the race track in hot rods, racing cars and trucks (no trailers!) all for raising money for charity and giving the sick kids a blast!
There is a convoy from North and South apporaches, hence some of the "on the road pics".
Think its been going for 4-5 years(I live just down the road so we go each year), just gets bigger and bigger.............
