“Tipping can be a tough old business, both for trucks and their owners” Scottish operator Peter Renton tells Biglorryblog and along the way I'm reminded of how good business is a person-to-person relationship---and having kit you can rely on....which is why he sings the praises of Binotto tipping gear for its straightforwardness of design, reliability in operation and the quality of its service back-up. "With Binotto, all these areas are properly answered" Peter continues,"Not least by their local salesman John Bell, who over the years has given us a service that’s second to none.”

Running some 18 trucks on a full variety of local and longer distance tipper work, Peter and David Renton’s vehicles have to be ready and available for almost every job, based just outside Duns in the Scottish borders, D. Renton & Sons is a family-owned, third generation tipper and haulage business with a heritage going back well over 50 years. Mounted on their DAF six and eight wheel chassis, the Binotto tipping cylinders combine light weight, speedy tipping and outstanding reliability.

“Binotto really is pretty much a ‘fit and forget’ product” says Peter’s son Euan, “and with excellent after-sales support to match. But what really counts the most for us are people like John who have taken the time to learn what we are about and how our business works. John had sold us other tipping gears in the past, but when he joined Binotto, that was no real issue for us. In fact, we’ve never looked back.”

As John himself says, “No matter how good the products, real business success depends on the person to person relationship. Four years ago, Peter and Euan put their faith in Binotto when it was a much smaller operation than it is today - and for that faith, we’ll do our utmost in return. Thankfully, we have a first class product too, that does exactly what it says it does!”

Complete with their 410hp Euro-5 engines, Binotto front end hoists and general purpose steel tipping bodies, Renton’s highly versatile, top specification DAF 8x4s weigh in at a competitive 12,800kgs. Another two identical vehicles are due to join the fleet in the next few weeks.
