"Speed:The Movie" Pat Mustard's milk float on a record-breaking Biglorryblog run.

Here's one of all those lovers of Pat Mustard, nemesis of tea-pot wielding Mrs Doyle. Biglorryblog is delighted to report that Isle of man TT star Martin Finnegan has set a new Mondello Park Lap record for the 0.8 mile Mondello Short Circuit, driving the Craggy Island Creameries Milk Float made famous in the 'Speed 3' episode of Father Ted.

Indeed he recorded the 'slowest-ever' recorded lap of the track as part of Down Syndrome Irelands’ round Ireland Milk Float push, known as Ted40. Now click through here for more Milk Float madness!

The Craggy Island Milk Float made its stop off at Mondello having been pushed from Dublin to Naas, the latest leg in its 40-day round Ireland trip which finishes in Galway in February 28th. The push has been organised by Paddy Power Bookmaker to raise much needed funds for Down Syndrome Ireland, and Mondello Park was once again happy to assist in raising awareness of the charity.

The lap of Mondello is to be the only time during its journey that the Milk Float travels under its own steam as teams of up to fifty people push the vehicle around the high-ways and by-ways of Ireland. Finnegan was originally meant to complete a lap of the National track but having spotted a short cut at the original 0.8 mile circuit, nipped through in an effort to relieve the excitement of traveling flat out a seven miles per hour!

Following a real struggle to get up the hill into Dunlop corner the Milk Float finally crossed the line in a time of 4:33.02 to set a new slowest lap time for a motorised vehicle around Mondello Park. Finnegan was joined by Ben Mogan, the son of Father Ted star Dermot Morgan, for the record breaking lap. Full information about the round Ireland Milk float push can be found on this link.

And finally I have to thank 'Two-Stroke' for the extra pictures of milk floats...mmm milky milky.
