Definitely a 'DOH!' moment I'd say...wouldn't you? And what time's the next train? Biglorryblog is grateful to both Alan Bunting (The Peter Pan of Her Majesty's Gallant Truck Press) and Sven-Erik Lindstrand in the US for this tale of trucking woe---or 'Tractor Trailer mishap' as Sven-Erik describes it. He goes on to say: "Apparently the driver had only been in Canada a few months, seeking a job as an oilfield operator. According to the person who sent this to me he'd missed his turn by Brandon Manitoba but then figured he could go over the nearby hill and back onto the road."

"However, it seems he didn't know there were rail tracks on top of the grade....the truck owner
figures he had to hit the angle at over 55 miles an hour in order to make the top. If you look close at some of the pictures you'll see that it's only when the large reefer trailer pinched the rear tires of the tractor that the rig actually stopped....!"

"This third picture shows the tracks left by the artic going through the field to get there," reports Sven-Erik. Now I don't know about you but I reckon you'd need to be travelling a lot faster than 55mph to clear this 'bump'...and probably on a motorbike too, not an artic!
Anyway click through here for some more shots of the daredevil driver's escapade...

With two hefty wreckers in attendance I'd have loved to have seen how they eventually recovered the truck!

Meanwhile, my thanks to both Alan and Sven-Erik...and there but for the grace of God go all of us.

How the hell did he get so far? he must of hit the bank at mach 3 and why did he/she think that he would not rip the front of the truck off even if he could make it.Also how far did the wrecker have to drive down the tracks?
