I have been sent this picture of a beautifully-restored Foden by Jim King, a 56-year old new vehicle delivery driver for On time Automotive Group. Jim tells me: "My late father, Thomas George King was a real Knight of the Road, having been a lorry driver all his working life. I was brought up on the smell of diesel from the age of four and have a great affinity to HGV's. I am a member of the HCVS and a keen amateur photographer. In fact I have had a few pictures published in various magazines including the March edition of Classic Van and pick up magazine. I contribute to T&D's Picture Post competition from time to time and in fact had a letter and picture published in your December edition. I do have a large portfolio of classic trucks and have attached one of the images. All the Best, Jim.' And what a cracker it is too Jim!

So for a pie, what model is it..and what's following it down the road in the background?

Surely I'm not the first??

It's an S20 Foden, being pursued by an S-type Bedford.

Please Sir, may I have a pie?

Brian,
The Foden has the S20 cab, introduced in 1954 and is either an FG with a Gardner engine or an FE with the Foden 2-stroke engine. As Chris says, it looks like a Bedford S type following.

Alan drake

It is John Thomas's Bedford S type following.
