Aberthaw Cement Bedford TM

According to the DVLA, this Aberthaw Cement Bedford TM was only on the road for 8 years. What happened to it after that I wonder? Was it scrapped, exported, or could it possibly still be lurking in a far-flung corner of someone's yard? beds.JPG

Chris Gardner:

I expect 8 years was plenty long enough for the cab to take on a "lacy" appearance.....

Not to mention obsolecence following the weight increase to 38 tonnes in May 1983

Andy "Geezah" Bootles:

I was lookign through the DVLA site using registrations from Ford Cargo's that Eddie Stobart used to have, and some of them were only in service (then not taxed after) for 3 to 4 years. There is one Cargo (ESL) tractor still about. Its E181 YHH. Any ideas where it is as there is an old Stobart 2 axle curtainsider local to me in a timber yars (with the old script writing) that would look good behind it.

Cheers

Andy

AH, this brings back memories, sadly aberthaw cement sold to blue circle in the early eighties, who replaced the scammells and bedfords with erf and leylands, they currently run a fleet of daf85s, i would be interested in seeing more old pics like this
