A great BIG lorry on Biglorryblog...for a pie, what on earth(moving) is it?

Now here's a nice big bonneted brain-teasing bruiser that should get Biglorryblog's antipodean readers all excited...but does anyone else know what it is..and where it's made? And here's another shot of one being tested..they make them as dump trucks as well as artics

There is a name on the grille...but I'm not saying what it is. Meanwhile these pictures come to me via Dennis Child in South Africa. Dennis has sent me a whole parcel of heavy hitter pix from around the world---some old some new so I'll slowly post them up. Now click through here if you want to be put out of your misery...

So who can tell me a bit more about this company? Richard...any brochures? And thanks for the great shots Dennis.

Richard Stanier:

That my friend is a Haulmax from Tasmania. A very interesting machine, but regretably their PR department couldn't run to sending me a brochure when I contacted them! (Hardly surprising mind, given International postage charges, and my rather slim chance of actually buying one)

Peter Lynch:

Well done Richard, just been looking at their website and it sounds quite an impressive operation. I will ring them and see if I can get a brochure sent over here.

Not seen this make before. But why the Cat colours? The black band and white model numbering system is the same too.

ian taylor:

the tyre scrub on that low loader must be horrendous or does it have steering axles?
