Biglorryblog's man in South Africa Dennis Child is the kind of man who always takes his camera on his travels. He tells me: "Hi Brian,
And what an impressive beast
it is..note the armoured shutters over the radiator....and windows...
Now here's a classic Deuce and a Half GMC 6x6......Love the kit strapped all around it!
......now here's one minus the canvas tarp and a big winch up front.
Now how about this one? A Dodge perhaps? You tell BLB!
Not a bad line up dresss.....right dress! Now click through here for a few more.

And last but not least...

Looks like we've got ourselves a convoy...great stuff Dennis..stand easy!

The ambulance is a Dodge, type WC, don't know which two digit number, for example WC-21.

Andrew is right about it being a Pacific. There were generally two types of cab fitted - the armour type as shown and one called a soft skin. Guess which one you drove when you were heading for World War II action.
As well as Wynns, a guy called Rex Cadman from Kent bought about six of these during the 1980s from France. They were a regular sight parked on the main road near Sandwich and of course we did a feature on these in Truck magazine - about 20 years ago.

The rear picture of the Pacific clearly shows that the four wheels of the rear bogie are chain driven from a central differential.
