Richard (The Brochure King) Stanier is obviously pleased having won his pie having guess the identity of the Hayes heavy hauler recently featured on Biglorryblog. With true modesty he says: "Hi Brian,
So I was right then!" He then goes on to provide his usual impressive information service to BLB--i.e. "Are Hayes and Pacific related? - Well you did ask! The Pacific Company was set up (in Vancouver) by former Hayes employees in 1947, and the Hayes company did get bought up by the (different) Pacific Company (from Washington - they of the tank transporter beloved by Wynns fame) in 1974 - So I think the answer is 'no'" Now read on to find out all about Cline...and another picture too.

Richard goes on: "Cline was a marque from Kansas that produced a range of on-highway trucks in the 50's and 60's like the one pictured at the top of the blog. It's a single axle truck (with no name, apparently!) available with Gasoline, Butane or Diesel engines of between 150-180hp. In later years the company specialised in off-highway dumpers like the mighty 235R 35-tonne dumper above. By this time they were owned by Isco Manufacturing, and I think later models were marketed under this name."
Solid facts and figures--just what BLB expects from the Brochure King--thanks Richard!
Well done Richard, now that looks very much like a Diamond T / Inter Cab on the top unit.
Yes Pete, it has got that classic American look of the time - it's kind of similar to a Hendrickson, too.
