ERF EC classic trucks...still going strong and shunting at Meachers. Biglorryblog has the story.

And so to Southampton, or more precisely to Meachers Transport at Southampton to hold Commercial Motor's annual breakdown test where we simulate a VOR breakdown incident on an artic and call all the seven tractor manufacturers and time their response and monitor their call handling.  To do so we have the help of willing operators who 'loan' us a vehicle for the day--not actually but the vehicle's details including reg, VIN number, mileage, name of usual driver etc....so the call is 'genuine'. And who got their first? Well you'll have to wait till we publish it in CM...!

Meanwhile, walking around Meachers yard Biglorryblog spotted this venerable EC11 working as the yard shunter...and in fine fettle too. W-reg---what'[s\that in real money age-wise? And it's still got its London Lorry Ban permit badge too! Nice to see it's gone to  well-deserved retirement. And BLB's thanks to director Richard Lambourne and all at Meachers for making the CM team so welcome....now click through here for another well-preserved ERF.

This EC10 picture comes from Road Rat, taken at a truck show. Nice bit of sign-painting and lighting bling....
