Fancy a nice cup of tea and a biscuit? Biglorryblog has a message for his beloved anorak army.

Well that's me done for the weekend but before I go can I thank all of you on behalf of myself and Will for sending in such fantastic pictures and comments. Without you there would be no Bigloryblog. It's your website because you provide the content! I'll put some new stufff up tomorrow including some great pictures from The Boss of London Docks when he loaded his old AEC there....

Some of the more regular readers may have noticed that we're not always posting up 'fresh meat' every day like we did before----that's probably 'cos Will and I have the day jobs to worry about! Consqeuently I'd ask you be patient if it takes a bit of time for us to post your material up, however, rest assured we'll get around to it eventually!

Meanwhile, a favour please. When you e-mail me any material, ideally could you do so in 'small packages'. E.g. no more than six pictures at a time please, and ideally re-sized. Why? Because it takes a fair amount of time to reformat stuff for the blog and the longer it takes me to do this the less of your stuff I can put up at any one time. Then it starts to back-up and I get very guilty!

The good news is that most of you are already doing this (i.e. resizing pix) but for those who may not be, all you have to do is open up your hi-res original digital picture (a jpeg) using Microsoft Picture Manager (you should have it on your PC) then click on the 'picture' tab, then from the drop down menu choose 'resize' then on the right-handside underneath the "predefined width and height" you'll find a strip box with an arrow on the right. Click on that and you'll see a selection of options. The one you need is 'web small' -- 448 x 336 pixels. Select that then click OK You'll then see the picture reduced in size to 448x336 pixels. Then click on File then choose 'SAVE AS remembering to give it a NEW file name (e.g.LoKenworthartic) otherwise you'll shrink your hi-res original file for good and you probably don't want to do that!

Likewise, using Picture Manager you can crop pictures to get the most interesting bit and then re-size it using the method above. However, if you need any help just drop me an e-mail.

This way you can send in stuff quicker (the picture files are much smaller) and my e-mail inbox won't get so clogged up----it's currently running at around 100-150 e-mails a day with some PR companies sending me massive 3-5MB files which I have to strip out first before I can even reply! Thanks for your help on this. And if we do want a higher-res version (say for CM or T&D) rest assured we'll e-mail you and ask for it...there now..biscuit?

Once again thanks for all your stuff. Regards Brian and Will AKA Biglorryblog.,
