'AtkiPete' Lynch has sent me these shots which come to Biglorryblog from Pete's mate Dave in Indonesia who tells me what we have here is: "Head-on crash at Freeport." Look like a pair of Cat 793C big dumpers have met each other with bump...I wonder how it happened?
Still, bearing in mind the other shot that Dave sent to BLB of the pick-up truck that was crushed by one of these monsters (and everyone in it survived) I should imagine the drivers of these two behemoths were better protected (apart from red faces)...

Now here's a question...what kind of recovery truck tows away a 300-tonne 2,400hp crash-damaged Cat 793C dump truck (especialy if it's laden with 200-tonnes). Perhaps Dave can tell us what happened next..meanwhile click through here for one more...

You can see how big it is with the Toyota in the background. And with the steps b*ggered up how did the driver climb down from the cab?

There are recovery trucks not much smaller then the dump trucks on these photos. take a look HERE. I'm not sure can they tow a laden dumper, though...
I would imagine they were towed away with a Toyota Hi-Lux. According to Jeremy Clarkson a Hi-Lux is indestructible and can do anything!
Interesting Video Mariusz, looks like a modifed dumper truck.
WOW MAN THATS SO BIG THING I MEAN ARE THE DRIVERS ALIVE ? IM TRUCK DRIVER TOO I DRIVER AN IVECO STRALIS
DOBBIE
As for how this happened, same as all accidents in Indonesia ( and there are many) - poor servicing, maintenance and training, they probably had their headlights off as bulbs are considered an unneccessary expense in that part of the world. I've been there and its frightening on roads, especially at night.
