Now this driver looks like he's having a good night's sleep, comfortable in the knowledge that he's safe and sound....Following the recent news that Volvo has tied up with Securitas to provide drivers with an attack alarm Daf is also doing its bit to protect truck drivers by being the first truck manufacturer to introduce a night lock which can be easily and quickly mounted to the doors of an XF105. The mechanical lock is mounted on the cabin sidewall and features a locking pin made of hardened steel that slides into the armrest of the door which all all the necessary reinforcements installed at the factory.

Daf tells Biglorryblog: "When developing the Night Lock, in addition to the highest possible strength and simple mounting, optimal ease of use was also central. To ensure that the driver is also able to exit the cab quickly in emergency situations, one press on the red button is sufficient to immediately disengage the lock. A special sticker on the door handle alerts those outside to the presence of the Night Lock. And whenever the lock is engaged, it's impossible to open the door, even using a crowbar.  Now click through here for more information...
.

Daf is delivering the Night Lock from this summer onwards via its PACCAR Parts operation for retrofitting to all versions of the XF105. A night lock for earlier XF models is expected to be available at beginning of next year. Sounds like a good move in practical driver protection....
