Harkin press 1.jpg

You can't keep a good truck down...especially when it's a Hino"We ran our last Hino for ten years," Danny Harkin, commercial director of Birmingham-based ground work and muckaway specialist J&J Harkin tells Biglorryblog, before adding, "It was very reliable and we were very pleased with it.  So when the need to increase fleet size arose, to buy more Hinos was a logical step for us,' he says. So the company has taken delivery of three new Hino 700 eight leggers, including a replacement for the original, all three being acquired to handle an increasing workload, including from new areas of business the company continues to develop. Like their predecessor, all three Hinos have ex-factory Thompson steel tipping bodies. They were supplied complete with autolube and load covers by West Midland's based Hino distributor Hi -Trucks. The first Hino 300 to enter service in the Midlands has joined the five-strong rigid fleet of Bloxwich based Abacus Builders Merchants (Walsall). Specified to handle the delivery of 'heavy side' building materials to sites, including private residences, where access is limited, the 150hp Hino 7.5-tonner, complete with a three-man tilt cab, has a brick and block body plus a chassis mounted crane rear of the cab. MD Bob Wright tells BLB: "We were looking for a robust, economical and manoeuvrable workhorse with an acceptable crane/payload capacity.  In the Hino 300 we found exactly what we wanted." And it's another sale for Hino dealers Hi -Trucks (Birmingham), kerchinggg!!!
