You're right of course! A nice bottle of Rioja, Gran Reserva if I have been a good boy together with a home-made paella complete with a dozen or so langoustines! How good can it get? Sorry , must get back to the paella!
The strange DUKW is actually called a LARC V ex US military and dating from the early 1960s It had a 5 ton load capacity and a Detroit Diesel V8. It was built by either Le-Tourneau- Westinghouse or, in this case, Condec. there were two or three of these in service on Jersey operating a service from St. Helier to Elizabeth Castle these had the distinction of being the only passenger vehicles on the island that required certification under the island P30 (oversized vehicle) scheme.
The LARC V was the smallest member of a family of similar vehicles with the medium sized LARC XV(15ton, 2xV8s, Fruehauf built) and the gigantic LARC LX (60ton, 4xV8s, also Fruehauf)
