is this a ballroom 'Blitz'? The best of Dutch old-timers on Biglorryblog.

OK everyone, I'm back and to start with here's a couple of Cloggie crackers from by old Dutch mate Iep van der Meer--and Iep's website is full of great stuff so why not check it out on this web-link http://www.iepbandermeer.nl/ But now back to the Biglorryblog in hand....what are these and what was the model name?

Blitz5.jpg

There's a touch of Bedford about it (now there's a clue) cross with a Thames perhaps. Anyway these beauties comes from (I assume) a Dutch auto museum and I'm grateful to Iep for the chance to give them an airing on BLB.

The big integral van on the left looks rather like the old Mercedes Dusseldorf big van (or was it the Bremen...? Mmmm, I forget so which was it anorak army?) Now click through here for more.....

Now a couple for all you bus tarts...and there's another giveaway clue on the side of the building. And last but not least...

Got it yet?

Barney:

Hi Brian where you back from?
And what are buses doing on BLB NO NO NO !!!

Vic Hungerford:

They are Opel Blitz trucks/buses. Opel is of course part of General Motors, hence the very strong resemblance to Bedford/Chev trucks and vans. I can't see much resemblance to a Thames, I'm afraid, those trucks are just a Bedford/Chev with a slightly different front end.
