They've been busy bunnies at Paccar having just launched their new Kenworth Environmental Program website www.kenworth.com/environmental.asp which Biglorryblog is well worth a visit and is a great way for operators to learn about Kenworth's green products and initiatives like the LNG tractors (above) and its hybrid trucks (below)...

However, what caught BLB's eye on visiting the Paccar website was its terrific owner photo gallery which you can get to via this link http://www.kenworth.com/5400_own_gal.asp and here's a litle selection starting with this great old-timer, a 1955 W900 owned by Doug McLain of Lake View Oregon. Doug tells BLB: "I get a lot of double-takes on the highway with PeeWee." Great truck, great name...!

Now click through here for a real bonneted behemoth--chosen specially for Martin P!

It's an oil-field truck, it's been sent in by Mansouri Yassine...so what is it and what's under the hood? Two pies up for grabs....

Thanks Brian! Very nice shots indeed. I love the little blue "needle-nose" conventional and of course the mighty 953 King of the Desert oilfield rig is the business. As far as what's under the hood it could be anything of course but a favourite was the old Detroit 8V-71N. But since this unit has only one exhaust stack it's possibly a 14-ltre Cummins.

Yes that is a Kenworth 953; the "standard" equipment, if there is any such thing on this type of truck, was listed as a 12V-71, but as Martin says, that or the optional 8V-71 are unlikely to have had only one exhaust stack. Various NT Cummins or 1693 Cat engines were also offered as optional equipment or of course anything at all could be retro-fitted by the owners

The Exhaust looks like its 5 inch,8V71`s used 4 inch, the bonnet is also VF Long,12V71 would probobly have 2 stacks,so I`d go with an FB Cummins or CAT.
