Roy Larkin of www.historicroadways.co.uk is clearly a man on a mission--to provide Biglorryblog with extra quirky stuff today! He's sent me another fascinating truck postcard and says: "Brian, It seems you liked the Lines card, so here's another. This one is post marked November 1921. A much more sensible way of arranging a back load than stood in a draughty phone box. 'On or about Dec 1st' looks like my style of just-in-time! A far more amenable way to conduct business and I bet the loads still got delivered and everybody was happy. Best wishes, Roy."

And here it is just stopping to take on an extra supply of tea and ginger nuts...

I think Roy's got a point too---we've become far-too reliant on e-mails and electronic backload systems. Biglorryblog is therefore launching a 'bring back the postcard' campaign----and what message will you be sending your customer? Answers in less than 20 words please! Now click through for another lorry stamp---in fact a first day cover.

Just what the postman ordered.....

Greenlands only closed a few years ago, The High Town premises were re developed into Marks and Spencer long ago with Greenlands having a small furniture shop in an adjoining street. Regrettably I have no idea what happened to the removal side of the business.
