I spotted this recently at last weekend's gathering of 'The Steel Boys' but I thought I'd do this one on its own just for 'AtkiPete' Lynch (I spoil you you know that don't you!). Anyway nice Strato 320 (14-litre) with the old CabTec (Daf/Pegaso) high-roof cab on it. In the colours of Browns of Wem. (Great name).
A great big 'A' and two (count 'em) 'Knights of the Road' badges on the grille too--what more could you want Pete? Not sure about the galloping horse--from a Ford Mustang perhaps?
Now click through here for a sentiment we can all relate too......
How true.....anyway Pete enjoy yer Atki!

About time Brian, was starting to wonder if you had any decent English lorries over there at all
Not as good as the old RP cab though, Pete! What do you reckon?
I doubt it Vic, but we didnt get those Strato cabs over here. The RP cab was designed ten years earlier than this one. It does look very similiar to the old Volvo F12 cab, which I didnt mind.
I have never seen one over here either; not the high-roof one anyway. Rod Simmonds will probably prove me wrong though by posting a photo he has taken of one going up the Bombay or Kaimai Hills!
I agree there is quite a resemblance to the F12. I drove one of those for about a year, one of the very early ones with the 16-speed box instead of the later 14-speed one; the 16-speed ones had a big lever on the dashboard to operate the splitter instead of the switch on the gear lever.
I went from an R model Mack to a Volvo F12 to an ERF C Series; I don't think you could get 3 more different trucks, but all good trucks in their own way.
We had the same cab in Australia on the Western Star when Western Star were assembling DAF`s,before Paccar took over DAF.There isn`t many left around Brisbane, the last one I saw was in a wrecking yard. They had American running gear with the DAF cab.My mate has a Western Star with I think the Foden cab,I`ll get a pic next time it is in my yard,Cam.
I reckon that your mate's Western Star would have an ERF cab, not a Foden one, from the short time that Western Star owned ERF. They weren't really a Western Star at all, but were just an ERF with a different grille and a big W on the front. Western Star did it as a short-term measure to satisfy some of their customers who wanted a cab-over truck, but within a short time they had sold ERF to MAN, who have now got rid of ERF altogether.
Cheers, Vic
Don't forget chaps that seddon cab is still used on the Daf XF and XF 105 today.
There is one of those cabover Western Stars running around here as a tipper, will try to get a photo.
