That lovable unrepentent old curmudgeon 'The Boss' has sent me this charming selection of shots and takes me to task for suggesting to you early that they were London Docks..."It wasn't
And here's a close-up of that line up featuring a Guy Big J (for the Brochure King) and a couple of AECs belonging to W.F.Miners and Sons. Now who can tell me anything about that fleet? If I understand The Boss correctly these were either taken by him or "Plymouth's second greatest picture taker. Dave Lee. " You can guess who is number one and just happens to come from Plymouth...goes by the ame of The Boss? Anyway great pictures---if you look closely you can see the blokes on the back hand-balling it----and no Elfin Safety to be seen....now click through here for a rare colour shot! And for younger readers those funny great things are called dock cranes....

That's an awful lot of cauliflowers too....Great stuff TB!

What absolutely brilliant photos! Full of the atmosphere of the time. In the colour shot there's a Guy Invincible by the two AECs, and in the B&W shot one of the Ergos is an AEC, but the other is a Leyland.
