Rummaging through the old camera flash card I noticed that I'd missed a picture from Biglorryblog's recent visit to the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden aerodrome in Bedford for the Citroen Berlingo and Nemo driving event. Anyway here it is and it's a device to start old WWI aeroplane engines...is it called a huck starter? (This prop was far too big to try and turn by hand). So for a double-pie, what's the truck and what's the plane behind it?

Hi BLB - Mr Rolls & Mr Royce may get a bit upset but the truck carrying the huck starter is no less than a Rolls Royce. I'll leave the plane to you Brian, a much higher qualified aeronautical buff.

From the look of the wheels, the truck powering the Huck starter could be an Austin (12, 16 or 20?)
I think the aircraft may be a Bristol fighter.

The Huck starters were usually based on the
Model T Ford chassis, which, I think, this one is, but there were some larger ones based on a Crossley chassis. I have no idea what the aircraft is.
