It's about time Biglorryblog wallowed in a bit of nostalgia (as opposed to neuralgia) and featured the 'King of all the Swedes'. Yes the 'old-style' F16. And thanks to Stuart Campbell I can. He's sent me this great selection of pictures and says: "Hello Brian, me and my father have recently finished restoring a 1990 F16 6x4 150-tonner low cab, registration number G791 SVM. I have attached some photos of it in this email." And what a beauty she is too. I also like the ICBM launchers behind her as well...or it is Madonna passing? OK I admit it, I'm being silly....
Anyway Stuart goes on to say: "We bought the truck off a dealer in London and brought it back to Northern Ireland a few months ago . It was previously owned by Heavy Haul of Chelmsford but that's all I have about it---but would like to know any information or previous history of it." Well BLB anoraks....what can you provide in the way of 'intelligence' to Stuart on his new baby? Get posting!

Thanks Stuart, great pictures, you and your Dad have breathed new life into an old warrior. And having looked at the hi-res shots Stuart sent me I can confirm to all BLB readers the restoration looks immaculate!

Cor, I was just thinking how great this looked. Superb job there on the restoration. I was amazed to see it was ex Heavyhaul, it was certainly working on Heavy Haulage work last year but didn't look half as good. They've been updating a bit lately and I think it's been replaced by an FH.
I often get a flash from the Heavyhaul lads as I'm a plant mover too but can't give you anymore details. I'd usually see this with a swan neck lowloader trailer often used to shift CFA piling rigs.

I seem to think that they had an F12 until recently too but I haven't seen it about for a while. I'm sure they've still got an left hook F12? wrecker though.
