And on the subject of getting stuck behind slow vehicles - I've got a bone to pick with this Bastad Tractorr driver!
I spent yesterday driving a Swedish-registered Volvo FE - helping Commercial Motor conduct one of their truck tests. Everything was going fine until I came around a corner to discover this thing in front of me. It was doing about 5mph, and refused to pull over to let us (or the other 20 vehicles behind) go past. We were stuck behind it for at least 15 minutes.
I don't know what annoys me the most, its speed, the plumes of carcinogenic smoke it was belching out, the fact that its tyres were almost flat, the lack of working tailights, the unsecure load or the fact that it's bound to be running on red diesel.
About 5 miles after finally managing to overtake it, I drove past a VOSA patrol car. And guess what? I got pulled over! Apparently they didn't like the fact that i was running with Swedish plates and trade plates. At least I had number plates!
