Well are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin. (And for a pie where does that line come from?) It all started when Jason Wilshaw, owner of JPW Commercials in
But that's what it turned out to be when Jason entered the DAF 95 XF into the Shropshire Show towards the end of May. "I only did it for a bit of free publicity," he tells me. "We're quite a small company, specialising in recovering and repairing commercial vehicles, so we thought we'd take the opportunity to promote ourselves and take some attention away from the big boys. We certainly did that!" Now click through here for a picture of young jason and his spoils of victory!
"Imagine how delighted we were when we not only won first prize (for Best Heavy Recovery Vehicle) in our particular class," says Jason, "But also got third prize overall in the entire show! I know Recovery World have a reputation for sourcing and selling first class vehicles but this undoubtedly proves it," he adds.
The smart red 150-tonne GTW XF is the third heavy vehicle JPW Commercials have purchased recently through Paul Allitt, who's responsible for Recovery World's Northern Region. "Recovery World are just so good at taking over all the responsibility of sourcing the vehicle you need. You simply tell them what you want and they do the rest, " reckons Jason. "I know they weren't directly responsible for the way our truck performed in the Shropshire Show, but even so build quality and overall appearance were among the points on which the vehicles were judged. Recovery World can always come up with this sort of quality, if you need them to."
Mmmmm...I think I might just give them a ring on 01438 871071.
