Magnificent Welsh scenery---naturally with a smart new Gerry Jones MAN TGX in the foreground says Bigloryblog!

There's lovely! That well-known Welsh Dragon (and long-time MAN operator) Gerry Jones Transport has put its first MAN TGX 26.480 6x2 artic on the road in what's believed to be the beginning of a complete fleet replacement to MAN's new model. Why does Biglorryblog say that? because I can reveal that a further 10 TGXs are already on order, and they'll join three current 26 tonne TGS rigids too.

The Newport haulier has grown its all-MAN fleet to 55, having remained loyal to the Munich marque for over 25 years. Boss, Gerry Jones, cites MAN's EGR 'Add Nothing' engine technology as providing a clear commercial advantage for truck fleets. "The MAN is a product of the highest quality," he tells BLB, "of that there is little doubt. We've enjoyed excellent productivity from all our MANs, and I expect the TGX to do the same. Impressive fuel economy comes courtesy of MAN's D20 and D26 engines which, of course, mean no AdBlue. What AdBlue does mean is added problems, exacerbated too by the widely-reported increasing cost for the additive." Now click through here for more and another stunning shot of the new TGX.

Gerry continues: "As expected, we've had great feedback from drivers, who have called MAN's latest product the 'complete truck'. It's a powerful advertising tool for us too; our customers can see we've invested in top quality, modern equipment, and that we take their custom very seriously."

And for those that like a bit of 'background' BLB can reveal that the family-run company offers an impressive one-stop shop operation for warehousing, distribution and shipping. Based at its 6.5-acre facility in Cwmcarn near Newport, the company also has 40,000sq.ft. of warehousing to support its core haulage business comprising 55 trucks and 80 trailers. The company also does business with 'Blue-chip' clients such as Klockner Pentaplas, Hawker Siddley, Schulman Plastics and Corus Colour Steels. So there.

And for a quick (Welsh Pie)....what's the motto that usually appears under the 'three feathers' livery of the Prince of Wales?
