This photo is of military vehicle enthusiast Mark Rimmer and his American Reo M35 6x6 army truck. Mark was all set to take the truck to the War & Peace Show in Kent last week - but there was a problem. He lives in the Bordeaux region of France and making the trip to Beltring would have cost him more than £500 in diesel.
So what did the ingenious fellow do? Click on the link below to find out (no pies for this one, I'm afraid).
He filled up with old cooking oil collected from restaurants near his home, of course.
"Anything to save a few pennies," he says. "The vehicle has a multi-fuel engine. It can use petrol, paraffin, diesel - or my favourite cooking oil.
"The restaurants would normally have to pay someone to take their old oil away and dispose of it. I take it away for nothing, filter out the lumps in my barn, add some diesel to thin it down a bit, and we're away."
Mark is sure the truck performs just as well on cooking oil as it does on diesel - and, he reckons, the emissions are cleaner too.
Sadly he didn't have enough cooking oil fuel to get back to Bordeaux, so he had to resort to good old diesel.
