Martin 'Keeper of the Flame' has been off enjoying himself in Sweden, not least to see the new Volvo FH with (I suspect) a whole load of other Volvo dealers. But why the picture of the big bonneted beauty? Because Volvo likes to show off its 'family' ties and the fact that it's a global manufacturer---so why not park one of these outside its test and demo centre?
Anyway I digress---Martin's back now and says: "Good Morning Brian, having just returned from Sweden last night where I managed to secure a few images of the latest Volvo cab, I thought that I should get these off to you for Biglorryblog."
Martin goes on to say: "The images of the new FH are self evident. The VN-880 is interesting because it is powered by the EGR version of the 16-litre Volvo lump [used in the FH16--BLB], rated I believe at a rather modest 635hp."
Anyway here are some pictures of the reason for Martin's visit---the new FH (although I get the feeling something was on the lens when this one was taken!).

This is a bit better....nice typical 25.25m long Scandinavian LHV. Meanwhile click through here for a very quite truck, or so Martin says.

Martin tells me: "Similarly, I was intrigued by the little Merc Econic I spotted going about its early morning duties in Boras. This was powered by Biogas and was extremely quiet.regards, Martin."

Martin your a lucky man!
I did once have the pleasure of the Volvo demo centre, but you can never go enough.
I've also heard on the grapevine on a cloggie web site that the FH16 comes with a new Euro 5 engine next year uprated to 700bhp.
