Whoops apocalypse No:3,461....a Kiwi Kenworth has a nasty Krunch. Fortunately the driver's OK says Biglorryblog...

Crunch4.JPG

Rod Simmonds in New Zealand has sent me this selection of shots of a battle-damaged Kiwi Kroozer . He says: "Another Kenworth for spare parts, the driver is sore but otherwise OK. The pics are by NIGHTSWAPPER , take note of the drawbar..." I am Rod, I am. And glad to hear the driver is on the mend. Which is probably more than can be said about his cabover Kay-whoppa.

Crunch5.JPG

Whatever it was he whacked, (or whacked him) all I can say is that they certainly hit it with some force as this picture shows...that wheel definitely needs balancing, you might want to fix the tracking while you're at it too.

This is what it looks like from the back-end, all fairly OK until you see this close-up of the drawbar coupling as Rod says...

crunch2.JPG

I guess there's no arguing with inertia is there? Now click through here to see a near miss in the cab....

crunch6.JPG

Whatever was on the back decided it wanted to more forward and that includes pushing the front bulkhead and what looks like a tipping ram...

crunch7.JPG

That's it just peeking through the back window..knock-knock, can I come in?

crunch8.JPG

Here's the rest of the cab interior with what looks like the windscreen rubber seal on the driver's seat..and last but not least...another view from the outside.

Like I always say, you can bash metal back into shape..flesh and blood takes a bit longer so BLB sends his best wishes for a speedy recovery to the driver. And my thanks to Rod and 'Nightswapper..'

Barney:

When you said near miss in the cab Brian I thought we were going to see a well soiled pair of the poor drivers trousers.
Is or was that a Tri Drive or double drive with tag axle?

rod simmonds:

tri drive and i am sure he did! Ran into bank i was told.............

Andy Davis:

It,s when you see trucks looking like this after an accident, that 1 or 2 things happen Rod.
1)Out of fresh air,a press photographer,s "on the scene"taking countless photo,s,then when enough have been taken, the photographer,s off to "flog"as many as he can to any paper he/she can!!
2)They don,t even ask about the driver UNLESS the driver,s lost his life, and the emergency services are at the scene,AS that makes it "a fatter cheque day",as their photo,s will make the main headlines of every paper!!
....AND...EVERY PAPER WILL MAKE THEIR HEADLINE STATE CLEARLY THAT THE ACCIDENT WAS ALL THE DRIVER,S FAULT!!!
Then yet again somebody will "start the ball rolling(again!!)about all trucker,s being the worst driver,s,and to blame for all road accident,s!!(EVEN ANY THAT DIDN,T INVOLVE A TRUCK!!)and the general public who read the article,s will become "anti-truck on the roads"all over again!!!!!!

As you,ve seen on BLB,there,s been trucker protest,s about the price of diesel here in Blighty, but there,s countless "diesel-engined"CAR,S ON OUR ROADS NOW,BUT NONE TOOK PART IN THE TRUCKER,S PROTEST,S!!!THEN IF DIESEL PRICE GO UP,THEN SO WILL PETROL PRICES TOO.....
That alway,s seem,s to"not register"with the general public though.....UNTIL TRUCKER,S STRIKE AND ALL FILLING STATIONS RUN OUT OF PETROL AGAIN!!

NEED I SAY MORE......
