Commer, Commer, Commer, chameleon... you come and show, you come and show. Biglorryblog posting from Ash and Rod.

This should keep old 'Two Stroke' happy, or at least all Commer fans. Ashley 'The Malteezer' Lovering has sent me these shots and the message. "Spotted at the show in Welland last month---just spoke to John Cecil who was the owner of the DAF which went to Malta and this is a pic of his restored Commer." Looks a cracker Ashley...and am I being too presemuptious to think it is indeed a two-stroke?

I've had this floating around for yonks---Rod Simmonds kindly sent me a whole load of pix of old motors at a Kiwi show. Sorry it took so long. I'll try and put a few more up. But what does anyone know about this cab--looks a touch Saurer to me.

Vic Hungerford:

It's just the normal Commer cab, Brian, compare it with the previous photo. It is the single headlight model and looks as if it has had extra driving lights put in inboard of the headlights. The white outline around the grille makes it look a bit different.

Vic Hungerford:

A bit of a correction there; the top one is a CB model (1963-65) the bottom one is a standard CE model (1968-74)

Bottom one is Don Julian's CE, ex Bruce London. It has done a big mileage, but is still in great order. Don looks after it really well. If you want to go for a ride in it, you can do it here;

Scroll down the page to find a short movie recorded inside this very truck. Don took it all the way down from Auckland to the Bill Richardson Memorial Commercial Rally in Invercargill at the very bottom of New Zealand. Was away about a month and did a nat's whisker under 4000kms. Looks like the annual truck show in Matamata in the North Island.
