Ashley 'The Malteezer' Lovering has sent me in afew more Grand Old British trucks he spotted on his recent travels in Malta. Starting with this old Dodge Commando tipper and crane.

Love the heavy duty body on the back of this old Daf...those sides aren't going to bow out!

Now for all you S&D (as opposed to S&M) fans here's where those old Shelvoke and Drewery dustcarts went! Or is it au unbadged Dennis? You tell me.

Ashley says: "Here's one I'd really love to have!" Ahhh...but what is it?
Now click through here for more...

Leyland eight-wheeler..Octopus?

So that's where my old ERF ended up...

The Refuse truck is an SD (the similar Dennis had a chromium strip type grille) and is one of a large number of SD, Dennis, Seddon, SAM and Seddon-Atkinson refuse trucks still in use on the island. Incidentally there are at least ten preserved SDs of various ages and types in the UK.
The Pick up is an Austin A55 or A60 of which many used examples of these and Minors were exported from the UK as chassis-part-cabs (pick up body scrapped in the UK)with the chassis cut just behind the cab (to save shipping space) on arrival in Malta they were re-welded (usually without strengthening plates)and given locally produced rear cab bulkheads and pick up bodies.
