Big low loaders on Biglorryblog...they go together like cheese and onion...

NIC-IAA08_300dpi.jpg

You know you learn something new every day. Or you do if you're Biglorryblog. For example I didn't know that the French special vehcile manufacturer NICOLAS (who Tractomas heavy haulers were recently featured on BLB) is in fact belongs to the same group of companies owned by the Heilbronn industrialist, Otto Rettenmaier that also includes KAMAG Transporttechnik in Ulm and SCHEUERLE Fahrzeugfabrik in Pfedelbach. Talk about a global force of heavy hitters. Thus the little beauty above is the latest 100-tonne payload compact low-bed low loader from Nicolas and Scheuerle complete with 65 degree wheel steering. But the question is what's pulling it and for that matter what on earth is that mystery load on the back? Any ideas?

And click through here for another indvisible load brain teaser...

So what's this then on the back of this long trailer. A new kind of boat, an aeroplane fuselage..Answers in your own times BLB anorak army,,,oh and what's up front in this picture?

Nick Garlick:

The first looks like a MAN belonging to the Big-move group loaded with a Liehber piling rig. The seconed is a wind turbine motor and I think thats a Mercedes up front.

seany:

looks like the top of a wind turbine

fairly new at this game:

top: Piling rig
bottom: wind turbine gear box

trucks: dunno still learning.

Alan Drake:

I think the first picture is one of Guttmann's 4 axle MAN tractors and the load looks very much like a piling machine

Martin Phippard:

Yep, I'm with you on the first picture Alan but I am not at all sure what the load on the other trailer is. Is it the nacelle from a wind turbine?

Tim:

I thought the first one looks a bit like Friderici of Switzerland.

Tim

Tim:

Second picture looks like Rostock Trans with a nacelle of a windturbine on the back.

Tim

olivier :

The blue truck looks like a Mercedes Actros Titan

The other is an MAN

Martin Phippard:

Tim, isn't the Friderici heavy tractor a Mercedes Titan?

Tim:

I'd say the grey (Friderici?) one is a TGA, not an Actros.

Tim

Rikki Chequer:

I agree with the others above..
The first looks like a piling rig pulled by an MAN (although it may be an OAF if they are still making heavy haulage trucks with MAN cabs)

The second is probably a TITAN and the load is a wind turbine nacelle... as seen on this page
http://www.nordex-online.com/en/products-services/wind-turbines.html It look very similar to the N80 2.5 megawatt version
