Just in from South Africa!  Dennis Child, general manager at ROTRAN multi-axle and the man with the best toy set in the world has sent me these shots of no less than FOUR (count them) Ultra Pacfic heavy haulers pulling this 225-ton transformer. Which only goes to show there's plenty of life left in these old dogs yet!

And here's the transformer on the back of a multi-axle modular low loader. IMG_0342_resize.JPG

Going uphill--that's a hell of a load to pull up a climb like that!

Four trucks truly worthy of a BIGlorryblog appearance! In the meantime click through here for a pie quiz...

What's the truck following behind? For a pie of course....and thanks for the pictures Dennis

It is a Nissan CW - and don't those Ultra Pacifics look great!

Brian, I know that we've had this conversation before and forgive my pedantic ways, but I think that only three of the four Pacifics are what Dennis calls the 'Ultra', those with the wide rear bogie. The first tractor is undeniably a big machine but has a deeper windscreen and the 'standard' width rear bogie and so does not qualify as I understand it. GREAT pictures though!

Is it just me, or is there a set of wheels missing off that modular trailer? That's a hell of a load to be hauling with a couple of wheels out of action...
