If you have to handle the world's biggest airliner, you need a decent tug to do it. This is the latest Douglas TBL (towbar-less) tug operated by British Airways at Heathrow to manoeuvre the Airbus A380, currently flying into London by Singapore Airlines. The tugs, British-built in Cheltenham and provided by VT Airside Solutions, will be among the vehicles featured in a special report on the A380's ground support vehicles which will appear in Commercial Motor's Christmas issue.  The grey tug is the previous generation of Douglas aircraft tug, one of which was bought from BA by the makers of Alien and apparently acted the part of the futuristic vehicle driven up the tunnel to the alien mothership. Personally, I can only remember Sigourney Weaver in her skimpies!
