Question: "What is pocket sized, costs under £10, and could save diesel vehicle drivers up to £7,000?" No, it's not a Biglorryblog wind-up, but a practical solution to a very common problem. In fact a problem that's so common, it apparently happens once every four miniutes...!

THiNK DIESEL is the latest gadget designed to stop you putting petrol into a diesel tank...(as if you'd do that?). This expensive mistake is, I'm told known as "misfueling". www.think-diesel.co.uk Ogh really? I'd have thought it was known as sheer stupidity but there for the grace of etc, etc,....

According to the people who follow this kind of thing "It is happening now on UK forecourts with over 150,000 people misfueling their cars every year. That equates to 400 vehicles per day or one every 4 minutes. The cost to the unsuspecting motorist to rectify their mistake is high. At best, a tank drain and refuel will cost in excess of £175. At worst, a complete engine replacement will cost up to £7,000. Putting the wrong fuel in a modern diesel engine can easily wreck the injection system." Mmmm you don't say.

And the answer? Well it's a handy little gadget called THiNK DIESEL which retails at £6.99 and reminds you at the pumps that your vehicle runs on diesel fuel. The unit fits neatly inside the fuel filler cap with no wiring required. As you open the filler cap you get an audible warning "THiNK DIESEL" before you shove the wrong nozzle in the right hole...The warning activates each time the fuel filler cap opens, fits 98% of vehicles and lasts up to two years or 400 fillings. And you can get it from the likes of Halfords and A1 Motor Stores. BLB is tempted to say that a slightly stronger warning might be more helpful..i.e. "Oiii Numbnuts! Yer driving a £'&#*% diesel!"  Anyway I'm sure it works perfectl;y well.  But what should you do itf you do fill up your car/van with petrol/diesel? Click through here to find out?

Well I can tell you that AA has now invested £1.7M to launch a new service with a dedicated fleet of vehicles to deal with drivers who have misfueled. The minimum charge for members is £175.00 plus the cost of fuel replacement, which is a bit more expensive than £6.99. Any roadu[p you can find out more about it via this link www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/news/aa-fuel-assist.html

Ye, but it wont prevent an entry of a petrol nozzle, so its not that good.

You can get a better device on www.solodiesel.eu

Its like 50 euros and it prevents an entry of a petrol nozzle in to your tank. So its imposible to misfuel.

www.tullmaninnovations.com by far the best device made for "misfueling".
