How to take good (truck) photographs. No # 3,915 in an unlimited series on Biglorryblog featuring Ainscough Crane Hire.

I thought it was about time we did another posting in our infrequent Biglorryblog series of 'How to take a nice truck picture.' And why not start with this one. Got the truck 'titled' for a dynamic approach, interesting angle on the trailer, nice bright coloured truck too (can't go wrong with bloe and yellow) moody sky (probably 'helped' a bit by a filter but that's OK)....all-in-all a nice shot. The only thing missing I'd say is to put the headlights on for a bit more 'drama' but that's just me... OK enough of the photography master-class, what you want to know is what's that nice TGX doing with Ainscough crane hire. Answer: Because the UK's leading crane hire and contract-lifting specialist has added 14 new MAN TGX 33.480 6x4s to its expanding fleet of ultra-high specification heavy haulage tractors. And it says that MAN's EGR 'Add Nothing' engines (at least not AdBlue), remains central to its continued acquisition of MAN trucks.

Now picture number two--shot in what looks like a rather cluttered yard---so why not  make something of it by putting this interesting bit of pipework in the foreground---works for mke and what am I always telling you about working with what the Good Lord has given you? I'd still put the headlights on though! Now click through here for more....

Now look at this one, somehow it's not as interesting as the others is it? So now you know what you have to do--tilt it, filter it, angle it, colour it, 'prop' it---and don'[t forget those headlights!

Meanwhile, BLB can tell you that Ainscough now boasts the largest MAN heavy haulage fleet in the UK - comprising 36 TGA and TGX tractors at 150 tonnes GCW, an 80 tonne tractor and two 44 tonne units. The latest TGX fleet will be used to move mobile crane ballast in support of the crane fleet and will also benefit from MAN on-board telematics as part of the company's MAN Fleet Management programme (MFM) - a system which helps keep Ainscough VOSA compliant by linking vehicles to the internet in a simple, useful and usable programme.

Steve Cooke, Ainscough's Engineering Director, believes MAN has emerged as a real force on the UK truck scene, "The quality of MAN's products is excellent," he tells me, "and they're supported today by a superb national network of high calibre workshop facilities. We've seen the investment MAN has made in the network over recent years and that investment is now bearing fruit. MAN's operational benefits are really encapsulated by the non-requirement of AdBlue in its EGR 'Add Nothing' engine line-up. There is no commercial advantage with AdBlue, borne out by the continued proven economy of the MAN system. There's certainly no operational advantage of fitting and filling an additional AdBlue tank either." And there you have it.
