Here's one for all you equestrian fans...and lovers of high 'horsepower'....Normally the sight of 'white horses' within the Poole harbour area would hardly be noticed but when they were eight white horses from the famous Camargue area of France and trotting off the Brittany Ferries 'Barfleur' they naturally created quite a story. Indeed they were the first of a dozen my-little-ponies in total to arrive in the UK for the pleasure of underprivileged children with the ponies being used over here by stables operating within the Riding for the Disabled Scheme.
Of course when it comes to 'Wild Horse' Biglorryyblog does tend to think of other things...like Volvo's FH16.660 and the poster campaign that saw it launched at a gallop...

And the high horsepower truck with equine airbrushing even appeared on Volvo's stand back at the 2007 NEC SHow. Now click through here for more....

White horses, wild horses, what's the difference says Biglorryblog? Meanwhile I hear that when Brittany Ferries Freight was approached by the organiser, Jakki Cunningham, to see if they could help, the worthy cause immediately struck a chord with the cross-channel ferry operator. The shortest route operated by a Brittany Ferries multi-purpose vessel being Cherbourg to Poole was ideally suited to the needs of the venture and the all important import sailings took place in September and early October. A Brittany Ferries spokesman tells me:'It's been a pleasure to be associated with this most impressive of organisations, especially as the entire venture from start to finish has been of such benefit to children.'
