Labatt's Streamliner. Only the most ancient aerodynamic artics on Biglorryblog thanks to Road Rat!

Biglorryblog is indebted to Road Rat for answering the call for pictures of the wonderful Labatt's Streamliner. And before I get another (no doubt justified) rollocking from across the water it's a CANADIAN brewery! Old RR says: "Hi Brian, photo taken when it was over here at the Wheels '88 truck show in Ellesmere Port. This version was a 4cyl petrol engine. The cab was completely coach built out of wood." What can anyone else tell me about it?

Meanwhile, for some more Eddie Stobart Trivia and exclusive photos check out www.road-rat.co.uk.

Finally, Road Rat says: "P.S: Can you ask Nick Garlick to contact me please?" So Nick, just for you, here is RR's e-mail address: mail@road-rat.co.uk.

Now click through here for another superb link to Labatt's website and information on the legendary Streamliner...

my dad worked for greenalls brewery, warrington. There lager at the time was called Grunhalle(probably spelt wrong but it was supposed to say greenall in bavarian) you my remember the adverts on tv. Well that lager was replaced by labatts in the early 90s, I remember being taken into warrington's old market where there was chain saw weilding lumber jacks cutting logs into mini chairs and tables they were giving labatts goodies away badges etc and that lorry was parked in the street at the side. It was a fantastic sight it seemed massive and so much highly polished wood, they were giving away postcard sized photo cards of it with some info on the back, i got one and a badge but they seem to have vanished forever like so many things you collect in the journey of life.

Hello Road Rat, ... As an interested Bus Nut, ... I wrote an article in an American publication on one-of-two ever built White tow trucks owned by LaBatts that were used to tow broke down delivery trucks such as yours and to pull rail freight cars throughout the LaBatt's beer plant. The owner purchased the tow truck on E-bay for peanuts.

Send me an e-message with your phone number and e-mail address if you are interested in seeing matching history that goes along with your story!

Your truck trailer combination is surely a bazillion dollar find. Never let it go!

Sinderely,
