Classic Citroens and a Morris J at the NEC. Biglorryblog is none the wiser...

I've had these pictures sent to me by (I thin) Adhley Lovering the Biglorryblog Malteaser (and if it's not Ashley then post a comment whoever DID do it!). Anyway he says: "Hi Brian, spotted these little tippers at the NEC yesterday. Morris J and a Citroen." Errr what was going on at the NEC then? And never mind that says Biglorryblog, isn't that one of those wonderful bicycles with the powered front wheel next to it?What are they called and how powerful is the engine?

And here's the Morris J, anyone guess the year and engine in it? And speaking of tippers click through here for the weirdest six-wheeler you've seen for a long while...

Ashley says: "Best shot I could get of the Citroen C15 6-wheeler on show." Are you sure this isn't a Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle? Now that's really showing my age... And for a quick pie who was Captain Scarlet's best mate?

BLB, Are you showing your age because you DO remember CS's mates name or becuase you DONT? Captain Blue I recall, although legend has it that after filming was complete and when the producers had all gone home, he got quite close to a couple of the Angels too.....but that is rumour that could end in litigation so I leave it there. My dad bought me an SPV for Christmas in it must have been 1969 or 1970, when we finally came back from Zambia. Within five minutes all the rockets had been fired into the garden at the dog and lost, I had tied up my brothers fingers with the rubber tracks and the box went into the bin with the remains of the turkey carcass. Like 99% of them I guess, which is why a good, boxed SPV is worth 500 quid now. Happy days.

I understand from the www.camionesclasicos.com website that there are a number of Citroen C15 6x2 vans about in France, however I remember a small fleet of Ford Escort Mk III 6x2 trucks used by Tesco in major towns and cities to reclaim absent trolleys. They had an 'Eezion' type raising and lowering mechanism for the loadbed and a front mounted exhaust system. I remember seeing them at work in Poole and Hereford and I wonder if you have any pictures?
