Barr soft drinks Bedford TK.jpg

One of Biglorryblog's many readers North of the Border, Alex Saville, has sent me this cracking collection fo Scottish waggons and says: "Brian, Maybe you will be interested in these photo's for BigLorryBlog? They were taken at the recent open day at the old Glasgow Corporation Bridgeton Bus garage, home of the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust. Although the majority of exhibit's were buses, there was a small collection of lorries that had arrived for the day. The Barr's Bedford TK was tucked away in the main building so I presume it resides there on a permanent basis. Alex."

Cracking shot of a six-wheeler Constructor Alex, something of a rare bird I reckon as most Constructors were eight-leggers as far as I recall. No doubt that will bring down a whole shed load of scorn on my head from Bobby Tuck (but it's worth it).

Beautiful bulker too. And for a Scottish Mutton Pie give me make, model and year please...now click through here for a REAL gem. I've not seen one like this before...

Frank MacDougall's prize winning Albion Victor.jpg

What's one of these? Cab reminds me a bit of a Rowe Hillmaster. So answer please and thanks for these Alex!

I'd never pour scorn on you Brian but as you say, the Constructor was a big favourite in the eight wheel rigid market but the Constructor 6 was a regular seller.
You may recall Jim Padkin's smartly turned out Scania 111 bulker on the recent blog I posted about the Campbeltown run. His 1966 Albion Reiver is also a cracker but as you say, the Homalloy cab on Frank McDougall's little Albion (a Chietain I think) is certainly a rare find.

Far be it for my humble self to correct Bob Tuck, Franks lorry is an Albion Victor. Sorry, Bob!
Alex

Its a vt19HD With a holms of preston cab(Homalloy) Its unusual because its got a built on screen visor.we have also got an albion riever which has the same style of cab minus the visor it was new to mitchell and butler brewery and was new in 1961!
