Now consider, if you will, that this shot was taken in 1991 by Ingemar Eriksson for Scania (it's from their image bank) and the chances are that it's pre-computer aided graphics or 'special FX'---i.e. it was all about timing. Not bad considering that it involved two cars, a bus and a truck (apparently moving) plus a jet fighter and turboprop passenger aircraft---all together in perfect position. Was it a manipulated image? I doubt it. And for a pie what are the two planes?

And I can only say that the 'search' facliity within said Swedish truck maker's image bank is rather 'idiosyncratic'. Having entered fire engiens this came up! Duh? Anyway if you're REALLY clver tell me what the vehicle is on the left...next to the Scania T144...and if you can't be bothered click through here for the answer...

Would the aeroplane on the left be a Saab Viggen?
The aircraft on the left is, indeed, the SAAB Viggen supersonic fighter. The other aircraft is the SAAB 340 turboprop regional airliner.
Offtopic: Dear BLB, can you tell us what the hell this is http://www.picturepush.com/public/1011171 ?
This high-roof Turbostar looks very clean, but I've never seen anything like this nor on the road nor in the factory brochures.
Is this a rare factory version or aftermarket conversion by somebody like Estepe?
Saab cars were a diversion from the main business - aircraft manufacture - were they not? Can I have a pie for the 9000 on the left and the 900 Turbo being the sandwich filling? Probably not - as every student knows - RTFQ, and then answer it! Viggen 37 and 340B.
