Martin 'Keeper of the Flame' Phippard has been pretty crook (i.e. ill) lately but has rallied enough to send me this shot of the B-Double that I couldn't figure out. Now thanks to this picture I see that it is indeed one---the fifth wheel on the A-trailer is tucked away right at the back. Meanwhile, MP says:"Hi Brian, further to the Pete Lynch KW B-Double image on BLB, herewith a rear-end shot of a similar Australian-built Lusty-EMS combination.Martin."
Presumably it's under the front tipping body to allow it to raise, yet with enough room for the neck and king-pin of the second trailer to slide in over the top of it and hitch up....anyroadup thanks for that and get well soon MP. Or at least in time for a drink tonight!

Hi all,
Just a quick one on this - this "B"-Double unit is called a "Stag" - this one is the Stag 25m! The "Stag" comes in 2 sizes, the 19m "pocket" and the 25m "full size"!
If you go to http://www.lustyems.com.au/stag-25m.php you will see the exact same unit as is pictured above! Plus you can even download an info sheet on the Stag 25m!
They jack knife the B trailer, and then the A trailer tips off.
Cam,
If that's the case, isn't this just a dog and truck in a B-Double body???
Joe
These are a fascinating design, but extremely more practical for operators.
The front trailer can be tipped with the rear trailer still attached, speeding up unloading.
