Spotted on the body of the new Renault Premium Lander 8x4 tipper being tested for CM's 8 January issue, this shovel is never going to wear out, largely on account of you would have to remove the sheeting system to remove it from its brackets!

no you dont, lift the shovel slightly rotate through 180 degrees then lower the shovel handle out of the top loop
Unless you can see something on a high-res photo that I can't on this one, Colin, I can't really see what the problem is.
Surely you just lift the shovel up until the bottom is out of the bracket and then the top of the handle comes down through the half-round bracket.
Or am I being particularly obtuse here?
I don't understand well the problem ... (what do you call a sheeting system ?)
Maybe the photo is deceptive, but believe me, it doesn't lift far enough to rotate. It's been pushed, pulled, twisted, cajoled and sworn at, and it doesn't go far enough.
Gaspard, the sheeting system is the system that mechanically puts a load cover in place, as required to to prevent the load falling out.
UNDERSTOOD...
The loop on top is smaller than the side fixture of the -now that I know what is is (thanks people)- sheeting system, the picture kinda twist the dimension... but that means the handle is stuck by the lower cylindrical thingamastuff... makes you wonder how they put the shovel in the first place (maybe they use shovel seeds, that grow by themselves on the truck...)
Or maybe it like thes chinese jigsaw puzzle, there is only one complicate way to separate the truck from the shovel without using lethal force or an airstrike, Somebody should call an old chinese guy to help over this...
I can vouch for the fact this shovel is going nowhere… I was down at Dunstable last week and saw it for myself. The bodybuilder makes the body before handing it over to the guy who fits the sheeting system. I guess every sheeting system is different. Some you’d still be able to remove the shovel, some you couldn’t. It’s an overhang issue. But anyway, it’s one which makes someone, somewhere, look incredibly stupid!
Angle grinder stat!
