He thought he had a 'vibration' problem seeing as it's only twodays after Christmas I thought I'd ease you gently back on to Biglorryblog...and thanks to Cam McFadyen who copied me in on this tale of woe I can bring you this picture of something nasty wrapped aroung the prop shaft and UJ of this truck...

The first time I saw this picture I thought 'Oh..oh..' this guy's gone through the paddock, picked up some barbed wire (and a sheep) along the way....and it's all got rather nasty and wrapped up around the prop shaft...but them I looked a bit harder at the wire and thought...mmm...just a minute that's not barbed wire that's a.....can you guess what it is? Click through here for the real story if you can't...
Apparently the guy driving the truck ran over a mattress and decided to keep going. The ensuing jumble finally whipped around enough to put a tear in the fuel tank, the subsequent lack of fuel is what finally brought this vehicle to a halt. That said it still managed to cover 30 more miles decently with all this stuff wrapped around the prop shaft! The driver alegedlt complained that his truck had a "shimmy" when driving it high speeds....I'm not surprised. Thanks goodness it didn't get tied up around the steer axle.....anyway the two pictures show what the dealership discovered when the put it over the pit. Hey...it could have happened to anyone right?

Imagine the same problem around the propellor of a canal boat! This happened to me several times with my cargo carrying canal boat. No luxury of sitting on the floor with bolt croppers. It is a case of stripping off and going under with bolt croppers! Just the job on a cold February morning.

when i drove for cleanaway(commercial refuse company) i was told that when you were on the tip, sorry landfill site, you DID not drive over a mattress as the above would happen.
