Further to my posting this up Cam McFadyen has sent me these and the comment Hi Brian,I don`t know if the quality of these pics is good enough for the blog. This ia earlier version of the Bullet, taken in about 1982,this version is a White Expeditor. The truck pulling the float is a Diamond Reo,very near and dear to me as I`ve got a very similar truck which I`ve been doing up over the last couple of years.A couple of pics of my Reo to come, see ya,Cam."

Hi Brian, after checking out the web site you`d better make the year for the pics 1983.Charlie`s shed is not far from where mine is at present. In the early 80`s they used to havwe Truck drags at Surfer`s,the only truck that was exciting was the Bandag Bullet, the rest of them where like watching the grass grow,(or the cricket).I took the blurry pics when I was teenager out the front of Charlie`s shed on our way down the coast to witness just how boring Truck Drags can be.At least barbed wire (XXXX) made it sort of entertaining. It is quite impressive to see the bullet doing a bit of circle work, disappearing in the smoke, and then reappearing fanging (that word again) it out of the smoke.See ya,Cam.

Hey Cam,

The White was the original Bullet but when the Kenworth came along, Frank scrapped the White but kept the two engines! Holy sh!t does the ground vibrate when he hits the loud pedal a few times!

cidertom

should that be 3000RPM someone's been perlaying with the engine which would probably have a red line of 2100, still bark away oh yea

Sean Huber

Those are race prepped engines 3000 rpm really shouldn't bother them all that much. It's coommon enough here in the US for the ones at the truck pulls to rev that high. But then nobody expects them to last a million miles either.
